Georgia has 19 signees from last season, of which three had enrolled early including running back Keith Marshall. However, there are still two members - defensive tackle John Atkins and defensive end Leonard Floyd - who are still dealing with meeting academic requirements, and have not reported as of yet.
Atkins is awaiting a qualifying score on the ACT and hopes to be able to report in July for the second summer session. Atkins said that he was only "one point away" from the qualifying score, but if his scores don't meet the requirements, he will go to a junior college until he's able to qualify at Georgia.
Floyd is clearing up a grade issue and hopes to report no later than next week. He's meeting with his high school counselor to discuss the grade problem. “I made an A in the class. I’m hoping to be at Georgia this week, and if not this week, then next week.”
UGA coach Mark Richt feels confident that most, if not all of this year's class will be able to meet the academic requirements.
