Strat-O-Matic and Burping Champions? Why Not

If there is an activity that more than three people engage in, I guarantee you there is either a world championship, or a world record for that activity.  This week’s news tid-bits prove that very theory.

In the world of competitive eating, there is now a new championship…burping champions.  New York pizza chef Tim “Eater X” Janus has won the first annual World Burping Championship, out-belching four other competitors by ripping out an 18.1 second burp.  To get himself ready for the event, Janus, 35, consumed over two gallons of Diet Coke and Mountain Dew just before Friday’s competition in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen.
